WARRIORS SIGN 3 FROM SUMMER LEAGUE

Warriors Sign Three Free Agents
Team Now Has 18 Players Under Contract

The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent guard DeMarcus Nelson, free agent guard/forward Dion Dowell and free agent forward Rob Kurz to contracts, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not announced......

Warriors Summer League Central

This is mainly a move to fill out the training camp roster. I don't see DeMarcus Nelson and Dion Dowell making the team, but Rob Kurz has an outside chance to stick because of his size and shooting ability. If Perovic is indeed gone and Cohan is unwilling to risk signing Livingston, then Kurtz could find a spot on the roster. He's a poor man's Croshere - the type of big man that Nelson likes to have around.

PEROVIC TO RETURN OVERSEAS

Kosta a Goner?

By Marcus Thompson II

...Las Provincias is reporting that Warriors’ back-up center Kosta Perovic has a deal in place with the Spanish team Pamesa Valencia....more than $4.2 million over three years). Perovic was expected to make $1.6 million. He has one more year left for somewhere around the same amount.

...Warriors would have to come to some kind of agreement with Perovic to let him out of his contract. The Warriors and Perovic would have to agree to some kind of amendment to his contract (i.e., a buyout), then he would be waived, allowing him to go to another team.

...The nearly $2 million coming off the books would give the Warriors a little bit more question, which comes in handy if they want to nab a point guard, such as Shaun Livingston.

Let him walk and sign Shaun Livingston! It's best for everyone involved that he continue his career in Europe where he will be better utilized. Perovic has some talent but just doesn't fit in the Warriors style and future.
