ANOTHER HYPOTHETICAL TRADE FOR AMARE
According to Chad Ford and his insider sources, the Phoenix Suns want a package of young talent and expiring deals. Here's a trade that works but I would hate to acquire Amare Stoudemire without having Biedrins playing next to him. If Ellis were traded in place of Biedrins, I would probably do the deal as long as Amare agrees to an extension beyond 2010.
Phoenix Suns

Andris Biedrins Salary: $9,000,000 Years Remaining: 6PTS: 13.0 REB: 11.8 AST: 2.0 PER: 20.71 |

Amare Stoudemire Salary: $15,070,550 Years Remaining: 3PTS: 20.8 REB: 8.2 AST: 2.0 PER: 20.16 |
Outgoing Players: Anthony Randolph, C.J. Watson, Corey Maggette, Andris Biedrins
Warriors Lineup 2009-10
PG: Crawford/Kidd*
SG: Ellis/Belinelli/Morrow
SF: Jackson/Azubuike
PF: Wright/Patrick Patterson** or Al-Farouq Aminu**
C: Stoudemire/Turiaf
* MLE
** Draft from the #7-#10 spot
Again, I'm not sure I would do this trade since I really want Biedrins to play alongside Stoudemire, but this shows that a deal can be reached if they really want to go after him hard. If we hand over Wright instead of Randolph, I might be tempted to pull the trigger. As the trade stands, the Warriors would still be a flawed team, but at least they have a proven All-Start Big Man and find a way to ditch Maggette's large contract. The addition of Stoudemire allows the Warriors to remain a great uptempo team, but in order to be a legitimate contender, Ellis will have to get back to where he was pre-moped, Wright will have to step up, and a solid true PG like Jason Kidd will have to be brought in.
