Highlights
Popcorn Machine's Gameflow
Notes
- starting lineup: Crawford, Belinelli, Maggette, Azubuike, Biedrins
- Barnett's Keys to the Game: Protect the rim; play in and out offense; pass ahead
- Belinelli gets his first start due to Jackson's sprained wrist; Golden opportunity for him to get more PT from here on out
- Andris is the big mismatch
- Maggette feeling it - hits first 4 shots, 2 were with foot on 3pt line
- Marco hits his first shot; low pass but recovered and went straight up with it
- Morrow in for Belinelli (not closing out on perimeter shooters); 5:30 mark of 1st Q
- Andris' sub-par roadtrip continues; looking more human these days
- Maggette unwilling to dump it off to Biedrins even when challenged by 2 taller Knicks in the paint
- Morrow hits his first shot; 3 pointer
- Watson in for Morrow; Watson/Crawford/Maggette/Azubuike/Biedrins
- Azubuike hits 3 at buzzer; Warriors 33, Knicks 39 end of 1st
- Turiaf starts 2nd Q; in for Biedrins
- Wilson Chandler and David Lee killing Warriors
- Watson buries his first shot
- Wright and Morrow in at 8:30 mark of 2nd Q
- Biedrins missing point blank shots; where is the fg% leader from last year? or the double-double machine from earlier this season?
- Warriors 48, Knicks 58 at 6:20 mark of 2Q; Azubuike comes out
- Randolph in at 6:00
- Knicks lights out from 3; 9-12 3pt
- Jim Barnett getting irritated by Warriors play; no defense, no ball movement, foul before inbounding ball; not throwing the ball up court
- Maggette having a bad end to the half: charge, dribbling up the court instead of passing it up; hand-check foul 22 feet way from basket; 17 pts, 7/12 fg
- Warriors 64, Knicks 82 end of 2nd Q; most points ever scored by Knicks in MSG for 1st Half
- even the Knicks can out-rebound the Warriors
- Watson starts 3rd Q instead of Belinelli
- Biedrins misses all 3 of his first freethrows in the 2nd half
- Lee continues to work the pick and roll
- Randolph in for Azubuike; 6:49 left in 3rd Q
- 16 pt deficit with 5:50 left in 3rd Q; Biedrins/Randolph/Maggette/Crawford/Watson
- 10 pt game with back to back 3's by Watson and Crawford
- Randolph gets benched for playing good defense; not happy about being replaced by Azubuike; Knicks go back up by 20
- Watson/Morrow/Azubuike/Randolph/Wright start 4th Q
- Randolph gets dunked on by Tim Thomas, then answers with a 20 ft jumper
- Turiaf successful in defending against Duhon/Lee pick and roll; cut deficit to 12 w/ 5:36 left to play
- Crawford airballs a three with a chance to cut the lead to single digits
- Warriors playing Duhon on the drive instead of playing the pass that will inevitably come a the last split second; career high 22 assists
- Maggette throws away a fastbreak opportunity; 122 to 132 with 2: 25 left
- many opportunities to get back into the game, all blown
- Lee with career high points and rebounds (37 and 21)
- Warriors go 0-5 on road; difficult part of the schedule is not over
- Would like to have seen Watson/Azubuike/Randolph/Wright/Turiaf as a defensive unit to slow down Knicks
- Warriors not a good small ball team - go with Maggette at the 3 or coming off the bench at 2 or 3. Randolph and Wright deserve more minutes; Belinelli deserves a chance to play more than a 5 min stretch
- the Warriors could be in for a bad season - a full on youth movement is the only remedy for keeping hardcore fan's interests; I want to see development of the future, tinkering with the lineups (not more small ball, AKA Mags at 4), EXTENDED playing time for Belinelli and Marcus Williams (just to see if they can up their trade values), more Randolph/Wright/Biedrins, giving good effort on the defensive end, tanking for Ricky Rubio in 2009
