Notes
- starting lineup: Crawford, Watson, Morrow, Jackson, Biedrins
- small ball extreme
- keys to the game: 1 - overpass early 2- make redd turn blue 3 - defensive accountability
- Morrow hits first 2 shots for Warriors...I sense a big game from him!
- Biedrins with a nice block on Bogut's jump hook
- Redd vs. Watson a tough matchup
- lots of jumpers early in the possession
- Wow, Watson passed off a drive to the hoop!
- Biedrins gobbling up boards
- Watson knocking down his shots
- Morrow with 3 swishes from +18 ft out
- Biedrins has come a long way with his post moves; can't wait to see how Wright, Henndrix, and Randolph develop
- very nice assist by Watson; normally he would try to draw the foul while chucking it up - this time he found cutting Jackson
- Turiaf in for Biedrins, 2:39 left in 1st Q
- Warriors should have looked for the perfect shooting Morrow more
- Jackson off so far...missing first two 3pt attempts
- Crawford hits buzzer beater - GS 30 MIL 22 end of 1st Q
- Morrow back in to start 2nd Q, no Belinelli yet after such a great game vs. OKL
- Warriors passing and cutting very well tonight
- Turiaf very active on both ends
- Morrow misses 1st two shots of the quarter
- Azubuike trying to get to the line on each drive, but not getting the whistle
- Belinelli in at 6:04 left in 2nd Q
- Azubuike and Maggette need to pass more! Buke forcing everything....wide open teammates, but does not pass - get his 3rd pf and hits the bench
- Randolph in at 3:20 mark of 2nd Q - Belinelli, Biedrins, Morrow, Crawford, Randolph
- Belinelli hits his 1st shot...a 3 pointer w/ assist coming of an offensive rebound from Biedrins
- Biedrins perfect 4 of 4 from line
- Villanueva with 4 blocks and playing good defense
- GS 55 MIL 50 at the half
- Leaders: Biedrins 12 pts, Biedrins 12 reb, Crawford 5 ast, Biedrins 3 blk
- starting lineup starts the 3rd Q
- Morrow and Jackson hit two 3's
- 11-2 run by the Warriors to start the 3rd Q
- Villanueva would make for a good big in Nellie's system
- Biedrins with a monster block on Villanueva
- Bucks trim lead to 4
- Morrow rails in 3 with shotclock expiring
- Ridnour answers with back-to-back jumpers
- Jackson forcing it in the middle...over-dribbling
- Watson rebounds Belinelli miss and scores off Bogut
- Belinelli finishing extremely well this year
- Belinelli at PG works, would pair well with Monta
- Jackson continues to jack up 3's even on cold shooting night; Warriors aren't in behind, why not work for a better shot
- Belinelli with shake n bake + assist to Watson, beautiful
- Belinelli knows when he has a chance to finish a drive and when to dump it off to a teammate...unlike Azubuike
- hello Nelson! play Belinelli more!
- AMAZING BEHIND THE BACKBOARD SHOT BY BELINELLI!! Larry Bird...Eat your heart out
- Warriors win 2 in a row, GSW 119 MIL 96; I'm for tanking, but a win where the young guys get plenty of run is ok by me
- this game better solidify Belinelli's role as a rotation player that could handle the ball, pass, and score in so many ways....plays decent defense too
Postgame Quotes
Don Nelson
On Tonight's Game:
“Well what I liked most about the game was 27 assists and sharing the ball and moving the ball and doing a lot of good things. We reverted back in the second quarter, but came out of it and got back in the second half moving the ball. I think we had gutsy performances. We were pretty good defensively, I thought the small lineup was good for us, in this game and everybody basically did their job and tried to do what we’ve been working in practice the last few days. I was coaching the score, guys that were in there when we were playing well and made our run I just went with them I didn’t know about combinations. It was going to be (Stephen Jackson) Jack and four guys basically, as long as he could go with his hand. I liked the way Jackson was playing on the defensive end, he was moving the ball and he did get a number of assists. Still as a team we really played well.”
On Marco Belinelli:
“I thought he came in and played the way I pictured him playing when we drafted him. I think it’s been good for both players. I think he and (Anthony) Morrow really competed hard this year and we felt as a staff that Morrow had won the battle, but it's very close. I think the more we move the ball the better Belinelli is in that system. So he’s had his two best games the last two games in which we made an emphasis of ball movement. So I'm very happy with his performance and I’m happy for him. He’s waited a long time to have a game like that. He’s a unique player because he can makes plays as well as score and shoot so he’s intriguing that way.”
Marco Belinelli
On Tonight's Game:
“If I get my opportunity to play, I can give something. For me, this was important because I think that I can help this team. I believe in all our people, we are young, we like to run, and if we stay aggressive we can win a lot of games.”
Andris Biedrins
On Marco Belinelli:
“He had a really great game. He works hard everyday in practice and you can see that. He had a great game last game and now he’s beginning to feel good about himself.”
